the surname „Sarneckiego” — it does not occur hitherto in `nazwiska.json`; the reading of the letters is certain.

Caveats on the years' registers (6)
What the compiler noted beside the entry itself, and what the table above does not show:
- T75 — The extract runs across two cards: entries 1–6 on card 1) (the village's card 1), entries 7–14 on card 2) (the village's card 2). The heading is repeated there in the form „T75 - Thorzew - Główki i Rogale. c.d.” (with a dash after the name of the village, which card 1) does not have). The total „Razem dymów 43.” stands on card 2) and takes in both cards: 31 + 12 = 43. In the name „Thorzew” the digraph „rz” is rendered by two short strokes — on card 1) so run together that at first sight the word looks like „Thonew”; certainty as to „Thorzew” is furnished by the repetition of the heading on card 2) and by the word „Thorzewskich” in entry 3.
- T89 — A NOTE AS TO THE NAME: the heading of the extract reads „T89 – Tchorzew Wielki”, and not „Tchórzew Rogale Główki” as the heading of the card. The register of 1789 thus takes this village under a collective name. The extract occupies card 4 (card 4), entries 1–5, closed with the added note „zob. c.d.”) and card 5 (card 5), „c.d. T89.”, entries 6–14, closed with the line „Razem 48 dymów”). A second, THICK ink has passed over the card: it corrected „o 1 gosp.” in entries 1 and 2, inserted „bez” above a struck-out „o” in entry 2, struck out „z bratem” in entry 3 and added there „(Stanisława z bratem”, inserted „i” in entry 4 and reworked the figure in entry 3 and the second digit of the final total.
- T₀89 — A list of the possessors of holdings from 1789 — without hearths and without a total (the card gives none). The extract begins on card 7) (card 7) with a single entry under the heading „T₀89 – Tchorzew Rogale i Główki”, the whole of card 8) (card 8) is taken up by its continuation written out in TWO COLUMNS, and it ends on card 9) (card 9, lying out of order — after Żurawieniec) under the heading „T₀89 c.d.”. In all 31 entries: 1 (card 7) + 10 in the left column and 11 in the right column (card 8) + 9 (card 9). THE COLUMNS OF CARD 537: the heading line runs across the whole width of the card and reads „T₀89 – cz. Michała Tchorzewskiego | i części zastawne tegoż:”; the vertical dividing stroke begins beneath the word „i” and goes to the lower edge of the card, so „cz. Michała Tchorzewskiego” opens the left column, and „i części zastawne tegoż:” is the caption of the right column. The right column is enclosed in a frame: by a horizontal stroke beneath that caption, by the dividing stroke on the left and by a vertical stroke on the right. THE REACH OF THE BRACE: the vertical inscription „nie wysiewają 10 korcy” (read from below upwards) runs along the right-hand side of card 8) beside that very right-hand stroke of the frame — the stroke descends from the top of the card (from the height of the heading line) and breaks off exactly where the word „korcy” begins. The brace therefore takes in ELEVEN entries of the right column („right 1”–„right 11”), from „cz. Andrzeja Wysokińskiego” to „cz. Macieja Wysokińskiego”, and runs on further onto card 9), where the same inscription runs close to the right margin of the single column, from the first line („cz. Józefa Tchórzewskiego”) to the last („cz. Pawła Domańskiego”) — and so takes in all NINE entries of that card. Together 20 entries under the brace. OUTSIDE the brace remain: the entry from card 7) (Sarnecki/Bądzyński) and all ten entries of the left column of card 8). A RESERVATION: the brace is drawn at the right margin of card 8), so formally it cannot be ruled out that the compiler of the card index meant it to take in both columns. I adopt the narrower reach, because (a) the upper stroke of the frame begins exactly at the dividing stroke, and not at the left margin of the card, (b) on card 9) the same inscription is not set off at the edge of the sheet, but adjoins the column it describes. The decision I leave to the owner — the entries of the left column have it noted in the note that they stand outside the brace. The inscription on both cards is in the plural („nie wysiewają”), not „nie wysiewa”. The dictionary annotation „nie wysiewa 10 korcy” is given to all 20 entries taken in by the brace. The annotation „zastaw” is given to the eleven entries of the right column of card 8), because they stand under the caption „i części zastawne tegoż:”; to the entries from card 9) I do NOT give it, because card 9) does not repeat that caption and it is not known whether the group of pledged holdings reaches so far.
- T90 — The extract begins on card 2 (card 2), beneath the line „Razem dymów 43” closing T75, and runs on through the whole of card 3 (card 3) as „c.d. T90.”. The entries are marked with the letters A–Ł, after them the line „Razem – 38 dymów wiejskich 2giej klasy”, and BELOW the stroke of the total one entry more, M) — a cross-reference to Tchórzew Plewki. Blue ink (the rest of the cards black). At every entry the card repeats with a repetition mark the formula „dymy wiejskie 2giej klasy”, written out in full only at A and D.
- T94 — The extract begins on card 6) (card 6) and ends on card 7) (card 7) under the heading „c.d. T94 –”, with the summing up „Razem 38 dymów;”. The sum of the entries = 38, it agrees to the hearth.
- V48 — On card 3), at the foot of the card, stand TWO separate V48 lines (black ink, beneath the blue T90 extract). The first is a comment on the separateness of Główki, the second gives the name of the village alone — as V48 does with other villages.
The card-index entries
Every extract for this locality in the wording of the cards, year by year. One block is one occurrence: this person, in this year. At a collective item the same card text stands beside every person named — because the card names them together and they must not be separated. The hearths given at a collective item are an equal division among those named, not a reading.

In the surname a correction by the copyist: between „Goła-” and „-skiego” stand letters blotted out by a dense crosswise striking out (they look like „t”/„x”), so that the writing reads „Gołaskiego”. The headword form according to `nazwiska.json`: Goławski (the variant „Gołaski” already attested). [reading uncertain as to the struck-out letters]

The surname on the card: „Thorzewskich”. Twelve men, twelve hearths („po 1 dymie”) — and it is precisely the reckoning that requires the second member of the enumeration to be taken as a separate person, and not as an apposition beside the Józefs. This second member is written with a SMALL letter: „heszyka”; over the letters a dot, which may be an „i” („hieszyka”) — [reading uncertain]. I take it to be the byname of a person named without a forename of his own (just as „Wojciecha Rogali” below); the byname „Heszyk” does not occur hitherto in `nazwiska.json`. In the word „Walentego” the ending is corrected, the ink smudged.

the card sets the surname before the forename; the writing „Wielgorskiego”, the headword form Wielgórski.
The writing of the forename on the card: „Sebastjana”. „z Bracią” — the brothers are not named by forename, so I do not enter them as persons; the two hearths divide between Sebastian and the unnamed siblings.
The surname is written otherwise than in entries 3 and 5 on the same card: the beginning of the word is a capital letter with a loop and directly after it the tall loop of an „h”, further „-rzewskiego”. I read „Schorzewskiego” — a form attested in the card index as a variant of Tchórzewski; „Szorzewskiego” cannot, however, be ruled out. [reading uncertain]

the same entry also names: Izdebski Ludwik, Izdebski Kazimierz, Izdebski Ludwik4 persons on 4 hearths
The surname „Izdebskich” is added ABOVE the line, with an insertion mark. The third forename is abbreviated: „Jęd.” — the capital letter has a loop with a clear descent below the line, like the „J” in „Józefa/Józefów” on the same card, and not like the „S” in „Sebastjana”; I therefore expand it to Jęd[rzej] (= Andrzej). Four men „po 1 dymie” and four hearths — the reckoning confirms that „Jęd.” is a fourth person, and not an office („Sęd[ziego]”, of the judge) beside Kazimierz.

The forename is abbreviated to „Bar.” — I do not expand it, because the abbreviation fits both Bartłomiej and Bartosz. It is NOT Barbara: the card has the masculine genitive form of the surname („Kowalewskiego”), a woman would be „Barbary Kowalewskiej”.
The „d” and the „rz” in the surname are strongly compressed, and at first glance the word looks like „Moolnewskiego”; under magnification the loop of the „d” and the digraph „rz” are visible — Modrzewski, a surname attested in the neighbourhood.

THE LARGEST CONCENTRATION OF PROPINATION in the whole village: 2 breweries and 4 inns on one holding — but this is a holding JOINED with the remainders (card: „z rzesciami”) in three other villages, so the breweries and the inns need not all stand in Tchórzew. The phrase „z rzesciami” [reading uncertain] — the same formula as „z rzeszczą” in Krasusy Łęcznowola (WZÓR, T89). The name of the second village is read „Zaolszyniu” [reading uncertain — the ending can also be read „-nin”]; the locative beside „Modrzewiu” speaks for „Zaolszyniu” (cf. the village of Krasusze Zaolszynie). The surname on this card in the form „Chromnieńskiego”, on card 2) (T90) „Chromińskiego”, on card 5) entry 14 „Chromieńskiego”. The total of the buildings 1+2+4+3 = 10 agrees with „= 10 d.”.
The cottages in two groups: 5 cottages „o 1 gosp.” and 4 cottages „bez ogr.”; in the field the breakdown of buildings they are summed as 9 cottages, because there is one key. Over the struck-out „o” in „4 chat. o ogr.” „bez” has been added in thick ink — the correction turns the sense into its opposite and for that reason I record it. The total 1+1+1+5+4 = 12 agrees with „= 12 d.”. Justyn Sarnecki is still alive in 1789; in T90 (1790, card 2) B) this holding already stands to „sukces. Justyna Sarneckiego”.

THE FIGURE CORRECTED [reading uncertain]. The figures „= __ d.” are written over a thinner, original writing in thick ink, so that the second figure is blotted. I read „13” for two reasons: (1) the card's own total requires it — 10+12+X+2+1 (card 4) + 10 (card 5) = 48, that is X = 13, and the reading „11” would give 46; (2) the second figure has a clear, closed loop and is markedly wider than this writer's „1” — compared with the entry number „11)” on card 5), where two narrow strokes without a loop stand. Originally „10” probably stood here, and the final total „45”, and both figures were corrected by the same amount (+3). A DISCREPANCY WHICH I DO NOT SMOOTH OVER: the card writes „każdy po 1 dymie”, and names eleven persons by forename (plus the unnamed brother of Stanisław) against 13 hearths — who has two hearths the card does not say. The correction consists in the striking out of „z bratem” after „Tomasza” and in the addition below, in thick ink, of „(Stanisława z bratem”. In T90 and T94 the same group of Tchórzewskis counts 14 hearths, in T75 — 12.

Below this entry, at the foot of card 4, the addition „zob. c.d.” directing to card 5 (card 5).
the same entry also names: Izdebski Stefan2 persons on 1 hearth
Two persons on one hearth — without the formula „po 1 dymie”, just as in T90 C) and in T94.
the same entry also names: Izdebski Andrzej2 persons on 1 hearth
Two persons on one hearth — without the formula „po 1 dymie”, just as in T90 C) and in T94.
On the card „Wielgorskiego” (without the ó).
the same entry also names: Krasuski Mich[ał]2 persons on 2 hearths
The same two Krasuskis as in T90 L) („Andrzeja i Michała Krasuskich – po 1 dymie – 2”). Without bynames — in this village the Krasuskis bear no bynames, otherwise than in Krasusy.
the same entry also names: Krasuski Andrz[ej]2 persons on 2 hearths
The same two Krasuskis as in T90 L) („Andrzeja i Michała Krasuskich – po 1 dymie – 2”). Without bynames — in this village the Krasuskis bear no bynames, otherwise than in Krasusy.
On this card the form „Chromieńskiego”; the same man in T90 A) („Wojciecha Chromińskiego”) has there, however, 3 hearths, and not 1.
The abbreviation of the forename is written so that it can be read „Woje.” or „Wojc.” [reading uncertain]; I expand it as Wojciech after T90 H) („cz. Wojciecha Kurowskiego”) and T94 („cz. Wojciecha Kurowskiego”).
The same holding and the same Józef in T90 D) under the surname „Hibowski”, in T94 „Chibowski”. I record the form from this card; I do not merge the persons.

The only T₀89 entry on card 7); it stands just below the heading of the extract „T₀89 – Tchorzew Rogale i Główki”. „zaprzys.” (zaprzysiągł/zaprzysiężony, he swore / was sworn) refers to Michał Bądzyński, who appeared for the successors of Justyn Sarnecki — he is not the possessor of this holding. The same holding as „cz. sukcesorów Justyna Sarneckiego 9 d.” in T94 and „część znaczniejsza Sarneckiego” in O83. The entry stands OUTSIDE the brace „nie wysiewają 10 korcy”. The surname „Bądzyński” [reading uncertain] — „Bą-” divided at the end of the line, „dzyński” in the next.

The first husband is not named.
the card gives neither a forename of her own nor a surname separately — it names her only as the wife of Antoni Wielgórski; the headword form „Wielgórska” I derive from the husband's surname given in the same line

1790 T90Hearth tax register 1790
Before the figure „3” stands a second, struck-out „3” — a false start, not a separate entry. The surname on this card in the form „Chromińskiego”; on card 4) (T89) the same family is written „Chromnieńskiego”.
In T89 (1789, card 4) the same holding still stands to Justyn Sarnecki himself („cz. Justyna Sarneckiego … = 12 d.”), here in 1790 already to his successors — Justyn Sarnecki therefore died between these registers. The discrepancy of the figures (12 → 9) the card does not explain.
the same entry also names: Izdebski Stefan2 persons on 1 hearth
Two persons, one hearth — the card does not add „po 1 dymie”, so both sit on one hearth. The same in T89 entry 10 and in T94.
the same entry also names: Izdebski Andrzej2 persons on 1 hearth
Two persons, one hearth — the card does not add „po 1 dymie”, so both sit on one hearth. The same in T89 entry 10 and in T94.
The only entry in this extract with inverted order (the surname before the forename). I read the surname „Hibowskiego” — the first letter is a clear, single „H”, different from the digraph „Ch” in „Chojeckiego” standing a line lower [reading uncertain as to H/Ch]. The same holding of the same Józef bears on other cards the surname „Chybowski” (T89 entry 8, card 5) and „Chibowski” (T94, card 6); I do NOT merge the persons, I report the discrepancy.

FIFTEEN forenames, FOURTEEN hearths — the card names two Piotrs: „Piotra;” at the end of the first line and „Piotra z bracią;” at the beginning of the second. This is not a repetition through the breaking of the line: the same composition, likewise with two Piotrs („Piotra … Piotra z bracią”) and likewise against 14 hearths, is repeated by T94 on card 6). To which of the persons a hearth does not fall the card does not say; I do not decide. The eleventh Piotr named has the addition „z bracią” (the brothers without forenames, not counted separately). Over the word „Michał” the letter „a” is added above (→ „Michała”).

this is that „część znaczniejsza Sarneckiego” of which O83 (IX) speaks
O83 O83A description of 1783 [the expansion of the siglum to be confirmed]
A short characterization of the village from 1783, without hearths. The name of the village in this line has the form „Thorzew” (without the „c”), different from the heading of the card („Tchórzew Rogale Główki”). The word „cząstki” is written with an „ą” — checked by comparison with „część” in the same line, where the same entry has a clearly different „ę”. The card does NOT give Sarnecki's forename; from the registers it follows that Justyn Sarnecki is meant (T89 of 1789: „cz. Justyna Sarneckiego … = 12 d.”, the largest holding in the village), but I do not add the forename. The line occupies two rows, with the division „znaczniej-/sza”. Neither propination, nor an inn, nor a brewery does O83 name at this village.
