Radzików-Stopki
In the card index under the name Radzików Stopki. Parish of Zbuczyn, łukowski county.
Dear reader, remember that this is an AI study, that it may contain errors; treat it as indicative and verify it for yourself.
Offices: Cieciszowski Antoni (castellan of Połaniec, kasztelan połaniecki)
Propination, inns, breweries: Krasuski Łukasz (inn)
More than five hearths in one hand: Jastrzębski (9)
the wordings on the cards: Radzików Stopki, Radzikow Stopki, Radzikow stopki, Stopki
district of łukowski · parish of Zbuczyn · cards 1), 2), 3), 4)
a village of part-holding nobility — „cząstki szlacheckie, część największa Cieciszowskiego, kasztelana połanieckiego” [O83 (IX)]; the holding of Cieciszowski, however, is counted under Czuryty, to which the card refers (T90 entry A, T89 entry 5). Three part-holding families: the Radzikowskis, the Wysokińskis, and one holding each of Krasuski, Wielgórski, Chromiński. Hearths: 23 [T75, 1775], 15 [T90], 15 [T89], 15 [T94]; in 1775 the whole village (9 hearths of the 23) was still in the hands of Jastrzębski, who is no longer found in the later registers. One inn beside the holding of Łukasz Krasuski [T89]. The card index notes neither propination, nor a brewery, nor a mill at this village. In 1789 three holdings „nie wysiewają 10 korcy” [T₀89].

Caveats on the years' registers (2)
What the compiler noted beside the entry itself, and what the table above does not show:
- T₀89 — Card 4 (card 4) is taken up entirely by T₀89 — a list of the possessors of holdings, without hearths. The card has TWO COLUMNS divided by a vertical stroke. Entries 1–14 are the left-hand column (from the top), entry 15 („zaprzys. Maciej Modrzewski.”) closes it at the foot, entries 16–20 are the right-hand column (from the top). This order of reading follows from the fact that the right-hand column begins with „cz. tegoż Macieja Modrzewskiego”, and the only Modrzewski occurs earlier, in the line „zaprzys.” at the foot of the left-hand column [order of reading: an uncertain interpretation]. In the right-hand column, below the horizontal stroke cutting off entry 17, the last three entries (18–20) are taken in by a brace, beside which is added „nie wysiewają 10 korcy”.
- T94 — T94 does NOT list Cieciszowski's holding here, although O83 on the same card calls it the largest in the village, and T90 entry A) refers to Czuryty for it. The total „Razem 15 dymów” thus covers only four holdings of the part-holding nobility.
The card-index entries
Every extract for this locality in the wording of the cards, year by year. One block is one occurrence: this person, in this year. At a collective item the same card text stands beside every person named — because the card names them together and they must not be separated. The hearths given at a collective item are an equal division among those named, not a reading.

the same entry also names: Radzikowski Wojciech, Radzikowski Jan, Radzikowski Cypryan, Radzikowski Józef, Radzikowski Jan, Radzikowski Wawrzyniec7 persons on 6 hearths
seven forenames at six hearths („po 1 dymie”, one hearth each). All the forenames are separated by commas, only „Jana i Wawrzyńca” joined by the conjunction „i” — presumably two persons on one hearth; the same arrangement recurs in T90 D) (six forenames, five hearths) and in T94 entry 1 (six forenames, five hearths). Before the second „Jana” stands a short horizontal stroke — in this hand an ordinary hyphen, not a striking-out (it strikes through no forename). „Radzikowskich” is underlined with a wavy line, „6” is underlined.
the forename abbreviated „Bart.” — I do not commit to an expansion (Bartłomiej?); in T89 entry 2 and T90 D) stands the fuller „Bartłom.”/„Bartłomieja”

the same entry also names: Wysokiński Tomasz, Wysokiński Józef, Wysokiński Wawrzyniec, Wysokiński Ignacy †, Wysokiński Jakób6 persons on 6 hearths
„Wysokinskich” underlined with a wave, „6” underlined. A horizontal stroke runs through the word „Jakóba” — I do not decide whether this is a striking-out or a hyphen (this hand places hyphens in the middle of enumerations, cf. entry 2); the arithmetic („po 1 dymie – dymów 6”) requires six persons, so I count Jakób. Ignacy Wysokiński (successors) occurs ONLY in T75 — in the registers of 1789–1794 he is no longer there.

„karcz.” = karczma, an inn — the reading checked under magnification, certain
above the line „bez” is added and underlined, entered above the corrected spot before „ogr.”; it reads „chat. bez ogr.” — a cottage without a garden
the forename on the card abbreviated „Bartłom.” = Bartłomiej (the full form in T90 D)
the same entry also names: Radzikowski Wawrzyniec, Radzikowski Jan, Radzikowski Józef4 persons on 4 hearths
„Wawrzyńca” added above the line between „Cypryana” and „Jana”; the number of hearths altered — the digit „4” written thickly over the previous one (probably „3”), which agrees with the addition of a fourth person. Four persons = 4 hearths.

the forename added above the line and underlined; the overwritten form reads more as „Wawrzeńca” than „Wawrzyńca” [reading uncertain]
the same entry also names: Wysokiński Jakub, Wysokiński Franc., Wysokiński Jan, Wysokiński Szymon †, Wysokiński Wawrzyniec6 persons on 6 hearths

The sign before the word „dwór” was checked under eightfold magnification with sharpening: it is TWO parallel short strokes standing BEFORE the letter „d”, that is, this hand's sign for „=” (the same as in entries 1–4: „= 2 d.”, „= 6 d.”), and not a strike-through of the word. The entry thus means „= 1 dwór” = 1 hearth, which closes the card's total: 2+2+4+6+1 = 15 = „Razem 15 d.”. The line „— zob. Czuryty;”, added lower down, to the right, is a separate cross-reference to card 1), where T89 covers 20 hearths of the holding of Antoni Cieciszewski „z włościami na Olędach i Radzikowie Stopkach złączona” (joined with the estates at Olędy and Radzików Stopki); that holding is counted under Czuryty and does not enter into the total of 15.
1789 T₀89List of possessors of holdings of 1789
the first of two Jan Radzikowskis on this card (the second in entry 18, in the right-hand column) — two Jan Radzikowskis also stand in T94 entry 1 and in T90 D)
the abbreviation „s̄s̄rów” (with a stroke over the doubled „s”) = sukcesorów, of the successors
the line closing the left-hand column: the person who swore the tax return (fasja), not the possessor of this holding; the forename and surname stand in the nominative, unlike in the remaining lines
the first line of the right-hand column; „tegoż” refers to Maciej Modrzewski from the line „zaprzys.” (entry 15) — this is how it comes out if the right-hand column is read after the left [interpretation uncertain]. Modrzewski does not occur in any yearly register of this village.
below this line the card draws a horizontal stroke, cutting it off from the brace taking in entries 18–20
taken in by the brace with the addition „nie wysiewają 10 korcy” together with entries 19 and 20; a second Jan Radzikowski on this card (the first at entry 10)
taken in by the brace with the addition „nie wysiewają 10 korcy” together with entries 18 and 20
on the card „Wawrzeńca” (with „e”), whereas T75, T90 and T94 have „Wawrzyńca”
the word after „części” I read as „zost.” (= zostałe, that is the remaining holdings of the same) [reading uncertain]: the first letter is a looped „z”, but the vowel in this line looks more like an „a” than an „o”, so „zast.” (= zastawne, under pledge) cannot be ruled out. In two further lines of the same formula (entries 4 and 8) the vowel is clearly closed („o”). For this reason I do NOT add a pledge annotation — I leave the decision to the owner.
the card gives only the initial „C.” and refers „tegoż” back to entry 1
After „Wielgórskiej” stands a short word (about four characters), which I do NOT read and do not guess at — checked closely at a tenfold magnification. Visible are: a stroke with a dot above it, a tall loop, a round mark and a mark with a long curl downward. Admissible, but unconfirmed, leads: „i dz[ieci]”, „doż[ywocie]”. Taken in by a brace with the note „nie wysiewają 10 korcy” together with entries 18 and 19.
the only woman in the whole village; the card gives no forename of her own, only the husband-derived form „Adamowej” — presumably the widow of Adam Wielgórski, whose successors hold a holding in T90 B), T89 entry 5 and T94 entry 3
„zost.” = zostałe (the remaining holdings of the same person) [uncertain reading — „zast.” is also possible, see the note at entry 2]
the card gives only the initial „Ł.” and refers „tegoż” (the same) to entry 3
on the card „Jakoba”, without the stroke over the „o”
Maciej Wysokiński stands only in T₀89; in T94 entry 2 and T90 E) a second Jan stands in his place
„zost.” = zostałe (the remaining holdings of the same person) [uncertain reading — „zast.” is also possible, see the note at entry 2]
the card gives only the initial „M.” and refers „tegoż” to entry 7
on the card „Wawrzeńca” (with „e”), whereas T75, T90 and T94 have „Wawrzyńca”
