In this chancery the abbreviation **„ol.” (olim)** is written as an „o” with a stroke through the stem and closely resembles „et”; the grammatical case decides the matter — the genitive with „filio” means **„to the son [of someone]”**, not „and to the son”. Jan, Aleksander, Stanisław, Andrzej, Paweł and Wojciech Sulej, further to Paweł, Wojciech, Antoni and Józef, the Izdebski brothers, to Adam Stocki, Franciszek Świerczowski and Teresa Płochocka – for the suit and official action brought and lodged with the present office on account of the doing of damages in the meadows, the woods and the corn, further for the sum for those same damages done, together with the penalty of the convicted, adjudged to them by a decree of condescension issued in the present office upon the ground of the estate of Suleje between themselves as deponents and those same parties quitted, and lodged with the records of the present office by way of oblation on the Monday, the morrow of the feast of the Purification of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary in the Year of Our Lord 1744; and the enforcement clause of that same decree – by reason of the sufficient and actual satisfaction rendered to them, the deponents, in the sum from each person, according to the tenor of a register signed by the hand of the magnificent (Magn.) officer, and by reason of the performance of the outstanding duties – they quit and cancel.

notes and marginalia The second quittance of that day given by the Gołaski brothers under the same decree of condescension issued upon the ground of the Sulej estate (cf. entry 1177, concerning the wounds and the act of violence); here the damages in the meadows, the woods and the corn done by thirteen defendants were reckoned. The reckoning was carried out „od każdej osoby” (from each person) according to a register signed by the officer – a rare mention of an auxiliary register of the office. The date on which the decree was lodged with the records has been reckoned: 3 February 1744 (a Monday) – the feria agrees. The surname in the manuscript is „Świerczewski”; the PTG tag gives „Franciszek Świerczowski” – the reading of the tag has been adopted. The persons agree with the PTG tags for scan 57-022.

Franciszek Gołaski, companion of the armoured banner of the magnificent (Magn.) Skarżyński, hunter of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and to his successors – for all the protestations made before the public records on account of the doing of damages and other claims, and for all and each of the claims subsisting up to this day, and this by reason of the settlement concluded between them; and the protestations against him, whatsoever might still exist, they cancel.

notes and marginalia The entry closes, from the opposite side, the series of the suits of the Gołaski with the Sulej and the Izdebski (cf. entries 1177 and 1178 of the same day): there the Gołaski gave a quittance to the defendants, here the defendants give a quittance to Gołaski. Beneath the entry the clerk filled the rest of the page with a calligraphed „VACUUM”, so that nobody might add anything – a classic safeguard of the register. Wojciech and Antoni Izdebski are not in the PTG tags for scan 57-024 (they occur in the tags for scan 57-022) – the discrepancy has been noted.
