He does this in his own name and in the name of the nobles (Nob.) Elżbieta, widow left by the noble (Nob.) Maciej Wysokiński, and Marianna, wife of the noble (Nob.) Józef Krasuski, the Nowosielskas, his sisters german, for whose ratification he stands surety. He consents to intromission forthwith and promises warranty from himself and from his own person. And this under a penalty of seventy Polish złoty and the present forum.

**Revision of the reading („olim” instead of „et”).** The original translation read the word before the father's given name as „et” and so made Jakub the **son** of Maciej. In this chancery the abbreviation **„ol.” (olim)** is written as an „o” with a stroke through the stem and closely resembles „et”; the grammatical case decides the matter — the genitive with „filio” means **„to the son [of someone]”**, not „and to the son”. The direction of the filiation is confirmed by entries 951, 961, 962, 1592 and 1593 („Jakub Tchórzewski, syn zm. Macieja”). The pattern has been checked against the manuscript: entry 246 (scan 56-043, „Antonio Domaszowski … **Casimiri filio**”) and entry 302 (scan 56-051, „Stephano Jasienski **ol. N. Pauli filio**”).

The noble (Nob.) Maciej Nowosielski, being of sound mind and body, deposed that he gives a quittance to the noble (Nob.) Tomasz Nowosielski and to his successors – for a certain claim – and this, that for the time to come he may not fall under suspicion – for the reason that that same noble (Nob.) Tomasz Nowosielski did in fact bring in the portion falling to him of the undoubted sum of two hundred and fifty Polish złoty into his hands and into the hands of the late noble (Nob.) Franciszek Nowosielski, likewise his brother; and this by virtue of the official quittance made before the present records on the Tuesday after Low Sunday in the Year of Our Lord 1729.
notes and marginalia A rare motive for an entry given outright: the quittance was deposed in order that „aby na przyszłość nie podpadał podejrzeniu” (ut subsequenti tempore suspicioni caveat) – that is, for the clearing of a good name, and not for the reckoning itself. The date of the quittance cited has been reckoned: the Tuesday after Low Sunday 1729 = 26 April 1729 (a Tuesday) – it agrees. The persons agree with the PTG tags for scan 57-037.

Maciej Wierzejski, his maternal uncle, for whose ratification they stand surety — that mutually and reciprocally they give a quittance to one another and to their successors, and namely:
the well-born (Gen.) Płodowski — for the suit and official action brought and lodged with the present office on account of the doing of damages, the cutting down of a wood and other injuries, more fully described in the terms; further for the cancellation, the relation and the condemnation obtained;
and the said nobles (Nob.) Wierzejski together with the others appearing — that same well-born (Gen.) Płodowski, for whatsoever protestations made against him;
and further for all and each of the claims which they had against one another up to this day – and this by reason of the amicable settlement concluded between them and of the satisfaction rendered; and the protestations, the relations and the condemnations — having reserved to the well-born (Gen.) Płodowski the unimpaired right of pursuing the matter further against the other heirs — they cancel.

The settlement embraces eight persons appearing and three absent, for whom surety was given. The PTG tag for scan 57-039 gives one of the participants as „? Popławski” (the indexer did not read the given name); in the manuscript the given name is corrected („Laurentius” struck out, „Stanislaus” written above) – the superscribed version has been accepted and the correction noted.

Jakub Oziębło with the late Marianna, his wife, for whose ratification he stands surety, being of sound mind and body, deposed that he gives a quittance to the noble (Nob.) Maciej Nowosielski, son of the late noble (Nob.) Szymon, and to his successors, for the sum of twenty-five Polish złoty – out of the original sum of forty Polish złoty, inscribed by the noble (Nob.) Józef Nurzyński and Zofia née Wysokińska, the sister of the wife of that same Nurzyński, by title of a simple debt before the present records on the Thursday after the feast of St Francis the Confessor in the Year of Our Lord 1727, and falling to him – and now in fact taken up; that same inscription he cancels.
Further, the sum of twenty-five Polish złoty, taken up by him, the deponent, in the manner described above, he inscribes and secures upon his hereditary estates to the noble (Nob.) Katarzyna née Oziębło, his wife, and to her successors; and that same sum he submits and undertakes to pay upon the demand of his wife and to lodge with the present records, and this under a penalty of twenty-five Polish złoty. The present court.
