Kowieski

The noble (Nob.) Adam Jastrzębski, son of the late noble (Nob.) Aleksander, being of sound mind and body, deposed that to the noble (Nob.) Sebastian Jastrzębski, son of the late noble (Nob.) Jan, and to his successors, he gives and donates his paternal hereditary estate, that is: 1) twelve strips of homestead land, beginning at the village road and running towards the Kosiorki boundaries, between the baulks of the successors of the noble (Nob.) Jan Kowieski on the one side and of the noble (Nob.) Jan Nowosielski on the other; 2) three strips of homestead land, beginning at the Paduchy boundary and running towards the Kosiorki boundaries, between the baulks of the successors of the late noble (Nob.) Jan Kowieski on the one side and of the noble (Nob.) Jan Borkowski on the other, sown with winter corn – lying in the hereditary estate of the village of Borki, with every right; he consented to intromission forthwith and promised warranty. And this under the land-law penalties and the forum of the present office.

Having appeared in person before the present castle court records of Łuków, the noble (Nob.) Marcjanna née Dzierżanowska, widow left by the late noble (Nob.) Franciszek Rudnicki, being of sound mind and body, deposed that to the noble (Nob.) Wojciech Kowieski, son of the late noble (Nob.) Tomasz Kowieski, and to his successors, her maternal hereditary estate, that is five strips of the plot, beginning at the village road and running towards the uroczysko, between the baulks of the noble (Nob.) Szymon Jasiński on the one side and of the noble (Nob.) Mikołaj Borkowski on the other, lying and situated in the hereditary estate of the village of Jasionka, with everything — she gives and donates; intromission from now, by civil law, and this under the land-law penalties, before the forum of the present office.

Having appeared in person before the present castle court records of Łuków, the noble (Nob.) Jadwiga Jastrzębska — by her first marriage the wife of the late noble (Nob.) Aleksander Marynowski, and now by her second marriage the wife of the noble (Nob.) Marcin Kowieski — with the assistance of that husband of hers, being of sound mind and body, deposed that to the noble (Nob.) Stanisław Borkowski, son of the late noble (Nob.) Jakub Borkowski, and to his successors, the sum of forty Polish złoty – originally inscribed by the noble (Nob.) Jakub Borkowski, father of the present cessionary, to the noble (Nob.) Paweł Jastrzębski by way of obligation before those same records, and ceded by that same noble (Nob.) Paweł Jastrzębski to her, the deponent, before the present records on the Monday on the eve of the feast of St Bartholomew the Apostle in the Year of Our Lord 1734 [23 August 1734] – as in fact paid to her, acknowledging the receipt of the whole of that sum, she makes over to the cessionary, transfers to him all the rights, allows intromission from now and for the future, and submits her person to the express court, under a penalty of forty Polish złoty and under the rigour of appearance in court.

The woman deposing was unlettered (in the source: „Ignara litterarum”) – the entry bears no signature.

The noble (Nob.) Wojciech Krasuski, in his own name and in the name of the noble (Nob.) Małgorzata née Zabłocka – by her first marriage left by the late noble (Nob.) Jan Kowieski, and by her second and present marriage his own wife – and likewise of the nobles (Nob.) Grzegorz, Kazimierz, Marianna and Katarzyna, unmarried maidens, Kowieski, his stepchildren, for whose ratification he stands surety, being of sound mind and body, deposed that he gives a quittance to the noble (Nob.) Stanisław Borkowski, son of the noble (Nob.) Jan Borkowski called Giza, and to his successors for the sum of eighty Polish złoty – inscribed in the first place and primarily by the noble (Nob.) Jan Borkowski to the noble (Nob.) Tomasz Mroczkowski by way of mortgage upon certain estates lying in the hereditary village of Borki Sołdy, before the present records on the Monday after the feast of St Laurence the Martyr in the Year of Our Lord 1726; yielded up by that same noble (Nob.) Tomasz Mroczkowski to the noble (Nob.) Krzysztof Borkowski before those same records on the Monday within the octave of the feast of Corpus Christi in the Year of Our Lord 1735; and lastly ceded by the noble (Nob.) Krzysztof Borkowski to the late noble (Nob.) Jan Kowieski, the first husband of the deponent's wife and the father of the stepchildren, before those same records on the Wednesday after Jubilate Sunday, and now in fact raised by the deponent. He consented to intromission forthwith and promised warranty, both as to the matter and as to his own person and that of the stepchildren, and this under a like penalty of eighty Polish złoty and under the jurisdiction of the present office.

The noble (Nob.) Wojciech Krasuski, being of sound mind and body, deposed that to the nobles (Nob.) Grzegorz, Kazimierz, Marianna and Katarzyna, unmarried maidens, Kowieski, his stepchildren, and to their successors he is bound and obliged for the sum – which he took on this day from the hands of the noble (Nob.) Stanisław Borkowski – by way of a certain, true, just, liquid and simple debt; that sum he inscribes and secures upon all and each of his estates, undertaking to pay it on the first demand of the creditors and to lodge it with the present records. And this under a like penalty of eighty Polish złoty and under the jurisdiction of the present office.
