The Łuków castle court records 1743–1744
persons 11 · entries 8 · years 1743–1744
Dear reader, remember that this is an AI study, that it may contain errors; treat it as indicative and verify it for yourself.
„Persons (different given names)” means: different combinations of a given name with a byname, not persons proved to have existed. Two namesakes from one family merge here into a single item, and the acts give nothing to tell them apart. An entry naming several families stands beside each of them — because the record names them together, and they must not be separated.

Stanisław Rzążewski called Gryczyk, her predecessor and parent, on the other side, and lodged with the records of the present office by way of oblation on the Friday after the solemn feast of Easter of the current year — the nobles (Nob.) notes and marginalia The Thursday after Laetare Sunday 1743 = 28 March 1743; the Friday after the feast of Easter 1743 = 19 April 1743. All the cognomens (Patrześ, Gryczyk, Leskowicz) agree with the tags for scan 065.

localities in the entry —
The noble (Nob.) Aleksander Chromiński [before his first name „Wawrzyniec” was struck out], being of sound mind and body, deposed that he gives a quittance to the noble (Nob.) Zuzanna née Lipińska, wife of the noble (Nob.) Szymon Borkowski, and to her successors for the sum of fifty Polish złoty – out of an original sum of one hundred Polish złoty, originally inscribed by the late noble (Nob.) Wawrzyniec Lipiński to the noble (Nob.) Krystyna Borkowska, his wife, by way of a simple debt before those same records on the Friday before the feast of the Most Sacred Body of Christ Our Lord in the Year of Our Lord 1725, and ceded by the above-mentioned noble (Nob.) Krystyna Borkowska to him, the deponent, as in fact and effectively paid to him – and those inscriptions, as regards the sum of fifty Polish złoty, he cancels.
The deponent was unlettered (in the source: „Ignarus litterarum”) – the entry bears no signature.
notes and marginalia The date of the original inscription in the source: „Feria Sexta in profesto Festi Sacratissimi Corporis Christi Domini Anno quidem 1725to”. The formula is internally inconsistent: Corpus Christi always falls on a Thursday (in 1725 on 31 May), so the „profestum” is the Wednesday, 30 May; „feria sexta” points to a Friday – probably the Friday preceding the feast (25 May 1725) is meant. The reading of the year (1725) is confirmed by an enlargement. Before the first name of the deponent the clerk struck out „Laurentius”.
date as the chancery wrote it under the date of the preceding entry: Feria Quarta post Festa Solennia Sacri Pentecostes proxima A.D. 1743

Aleksander Chromiński and to the noble (Nob.) Wojciech, his son, and to their successors they mortgaged their estates – the husband's indeed subject to his rights, and the wife's hereditary – that is the half of her share in the homestead, the arable, the fields, meadows, woods, forests, rivers, streams and other appurtenances and appendages, lying in the hereditary village of Lipiny, sown with the winter corn of the current year, for the sum of fifty Polish złoty, from this day for three years, with the term falling on the feast of the Nativity of St John the Baptist in the year 1746; they allow intromission from year to year, from now and for the future, and submit themselves to the court, under a penalty of fifty Polish złoty and under the rigour of appearance in court.
The deponents unlettered (in the source: „Ignari litterarum”) – the entry without signatures.
