Dąbrowski

The noble (Nob.) Hiacynt Dąbrowski on the one side, and the noble (Nob.) Ignacy Sobiczewski on the other side, being of sound mind and body, deposed that mutually and reciprocally they give a quittance to one another and to their successors – for whatsoever protestations made mutually against one another and for all and each of the claims arising up to this day – by reason of the amicable settlement concluded between them; and the protestations they cancel. Hiacynt Dąbrowski deposes in his own name and in the name of the noble (Nob.) Stanisław Dąbrowski, his brother, for whose ratification he stands surety.

The well-born (Gen.) Ignacy Dąbrowski and Marianna Borkowska, lawful wife of the noble (Nob.) Antoni Skwierczyński, with the assistance of that same husband of hers, being of sound mind and body, deposed that they give a quittance to the noble (Nob.) Piotr Ługowski called Ławczyk and to his successors for the protestation made before the present records on the Thursday before the feast of St Matthew the Apostle in the Year of Our Lord 1731 – namely the deponent Marianna née Borkowska Skwierczyńska on account of a beating, the endangerment of her life and abduction, and Dąbrowski on account of oppression – and this by reason of the satisfaction rendered and of the amicable settlement; and that protestation they cancel.

The noble (Nob.) Jan Domański, son of the late noble (Nob.) Krzysztof Domański, being of sound mind and body, deposed that to the noble (Nob.) Józef Dąbrowski, son of the late noble (Nob.) Ludwik, and to his successors, he mortgages his acquired hereditary estate, lying in two fields, that is: in the first field: 1) two strips of arable, beginning at the Paskudy boundary and running towards the Kownaty boundaries, between the baulks of the noble (Nob.) Marcin Domański on the one side and of that same party taking the mortgage on the other; 2) three strips of arable, beginning at the ługi and running towards the Kownaty boundaries, between the baulks of the noble (Nob.) Antoni Domański on the one side and of that same party taking the mortgage on the other – sown with winter corn; in the second field: 3) one strip of arable with half of a second, beginning at the marsh called Ostrożne and running towards the Kownaty boundaries, between the baulks of the noble (Nob.) Maciej Szczygielski on both sides; 4) one strip of arable with half of a second, beginning at the Gorzała road and running towards the orchard, between the baulks of the noble (Nob.) Andrzej Domański on the one side and of the noble (Nob.) Jan Jurkowski on the other; 5) one strip of arable with half of a second, beginning at Kniejki and running towards the Kownaty boundaries, between the baulks of the noble (Nob.) Piotr Domański on the one side and of that same party taking the mortgage on the other; 6) one strip of arable with half of a second, beginning at the road called Gorzała and running towards the Żytków boundaries, between the baulks of the noble (Nob.) Karol Niezabitowski on the one side and of that same party taking the mortgage on the other; 7) two strips of homestead land, beginning at the Zapłotna road and running towards the pond, between the baulks of the noble (Nob.) Andrzej Domański on the one side and of that same party taking the mortgage on the other – lying in the hereditary estate of the village of Domaniny Gąsiory, waste, with every right, for the sum of one hundred Polish złoty, from now for two years, until the feast of St Casimir falling in the coming year 1745, and so on from one two-year term to the next, to the same feast. He consented to intromission forthwith and promised warranty. And this under a like penalty of one hundred Polish złoty and the present forum.

The well-born (Gen.) Wawrzyniec Łempicki, son of the late well-born (Gen.) Jan Łempicki, being of sound mind and body, deposed that he gives a quittance to the well-born (Gen.) Felicjan Dąbrowski and Mikołaj Dłużewski and to the well-born (Gen.) Michał Rucki, his maternal uncle, and to their successors for a certain manifestation made before the present records – annulling at the same time the earlier quittance made by himself to the person of the said well-born (Gen.) Michał Rucki before those same present records; further, for the suit and official action brought and lodged with the Liw castle court office against the parties now quitted on account of the sum of six hundred and thirty-six Polish złoty and sixteen groszy – the original sum together with the interest due upon it – and this by reason of the actual payment of that sum. The manifestation and the whole process he cancels.

The nobles (Nob.) Stanisław, Kazimierz and Hiacynt Dąbrowski, sons of the late noble (Nob.) Marcin Dąbrowski called Biernat, brothers german to one another, and nephews of the late noble (Nob.) Władysław Dąbrowski, who died without issue, being of sound mind and body, deposed that they give a quittance to the noble (Nob.) Tomasz Okniński called Szczepanik, son of the late noble (Nob.) Adam, and to his successors for the sum of sixteen Polish złoty – inscribed by that party quitted to the said late noble (Nob.) Władysław Dąbrowski, the deponents' paternal uncle, by way of mortgage upon certain estates lying in the hereditary estate of the village of Okniny, before the present records; and after the death without issue of that same uncle fallen to the deponents by divine right and natural succession; and now in fact received by them from the hands of the party now quitted. They give a quittance and cancel that inscription.

The same brothers, being of sound mind and body, deposed that to the noble (Nob.) Tomasz Okniński, son of the late noble (Nob.) Adam, and Teresa née Wielgórska Oknińska, spouses of one another, and to their lawful successors, they give and donate their estates – fallen to them after the late noble (Nob.) Władysław Dąbrowski, the deponents' paternal uncle, who died without issue, by divine right and natural succession – that is the inheritance share called Dziecinkowska, or the one situated in the hide (mansus) called Dziecinkowski: in the plot, the arable, the fields, meadows, woods, forests, groves, rivers and streams and in all the other appurtenances and appendages of that inheritance share, lying in the hereditary estates of the villages of Okniny and Grzegowa Woda [uncertain reading], with every right; they consented to intromission forthwith and promised warranty. And this under the land-law penalties and the forum of the present office.

Before the present castle court records of Łuków, having appeared in person, the noble (Nob.) Adrian Dąbrowski, son of the noble (Nob.) Paweł Dąbrowski, being of sound mind and withdrawing, deposed that to the well-born (Gen.) Petronela Kikorówna, daughter of the well-born (Gen.) Adam Kikor, begotten of the well-born (Gen.) Jadwiga Duninówna Borkowska, and to her lawful successors, he is bound and obliged for the sum of seven hundred and twenty Polish złoty in Hungarian red złoty, each reckoned at eighteen Polish złoty — which sum he took up this day from the hands of the magnificent (Magn.) Mikołaj Kuczyński, deputy pantler of the Drohiczyn land — by way of a certain, true, just, liquid and simple debt. That sum he inscribes and secures upon all his estates, acknowledged to his person by way of a perpetual donation by the noble (Nob.) Paweł Dąbrowski, his father, before the records of Brańsk on the Monday after the feast of the Conversion of St Paul the Apostle of the current year 1743, and especially upon the parts lying in the estates of Włosty and Olszanka [uncertain reading], and likewise upon the estates which he shall acquire, as also upon whatsoever sums placed anywhere, both those held and those which he shall hold. He undertakes at the same time and binds himself to pay that sum on the first demand of that same creditor and to lodge it with the castle court records of Drohiczyn, and this under a like penalty of seven hundred and twenty Polish złoty, appointing the forum of the Drohiczyn castle court office for answering, in the Podlasie voivodeship and the Drohiczyn land.

The well-born (Gen.) Maciej Rola, son of the late noble (Nob.) Kazimierz, being of sound mind and body, deposed that to the noble (Nob.) Józef Dąbrowski, son of the late noble (Nob.) Ludwik, and to his successors he has mortgaged the estates which had earlier been let to him by the noble (Nob.) Jan Szaniawski by way of obligation – that is the entire half of a share of the estate, in the waste homesteads, the gardens, orchards, arable, fields, meadows, woods, forests, groves, rivers and the other appurtenances and appendages of that share (reserving the other half for himself from the outset) – lying and situated in the village of Zakrzew, standing waste, with every right, for the sum of three hundred and fifty Polish złoty, from now for three years, the term falling at the feast of the Nativity of St John the Baptist in the coming year 1746 [24 June 1746]; he consents to intromission from now on for the future and submits to the court, and this under a like penalty of three hundred and fifty Polish złoty and under the jurisdiction of the present office.

The deponent was unlettered (in the source: „Ignarus litterarum”) – the entry bears no signature.

The magnificent (Magn.) Konstancja née Podowska, daughter begotten of the late magnificent (Magn.) Stanisław Junosza Podoski, tribune of Bracław, and of the late magnificent (Magn.) Anna Dąbrowska, and widow left by the late magnificent (Magn.) Władysław Dąbrowski, chamberlain of Vilna – son of the erstwhile magnificent (Magn.) Kazimierz Dąbrowski, chamberlain of Vilna, begotten with the late magnificent (Magn.) Barbara Puzyńska – being of sound mind and body, deposed, ceding,

that from the rights of life estate – namely, in the first place from that which the late magnificent (Magn.) Władysław Dąbrowski, chamberlain of Vilna, her husband, inscribed to her mutually two years before [?] before the Chełm castle court records on the Monday after Misericordia Sunday in the Year of Our Lord 1707 [9 May 1707]; and next from the further one, officially given and deposed by the late illustrious (Illustr.) and very reverend (Adm. Rev.) (Illustr. et Religiosiss.) Michał Dąbrowski, knight of Malta, commander of Łomazy and of Rotowiec [uncertain reading], major general of the Crown troops, as regards his estates and all his own sums of money, before the Warsaw castle court records on the Thursday, the morrow of the feast of St Laurence the Martyr of the year 1735 [11 August 1735], and lodged with the present records by way of oblation on the Thursday before the feast of St Laurence the Martyr in the Year of Our Lord 1737 [8 August 1737] –

from both of them serving her she withdraws, and both those rights of life estate she renounces by the present act.

The magnificent (Magn.) Stanisław Dąbrowski, lieutenant colonel of the troops of His Royal Majesty and of the Commonwealth, deputy cup-bearer of Liw, being of sound mind and body, deposed, ceding, that a certain hand-written bond, drawn up and dated here at Łuków on the 22nd day of the month of June of the current year 1743, issued by himself the deponent in favour of the magnificent (Magn.) Konstancja née Podowska Dąbrowska, wife of the chamberlain of Vilna, his dearest mother, signed in his own hand and secured by a seal, confirmed by the penalty set out in that same bond – he strengthens and confirms in everything (he approves it), and this under a like penalty set out in that same bond, indicating the courts of all offices and tribunals as the forum for answering.

Władysław Dąbrowski, chamberlain of Vilna, the mother, and Stanisław Dąbrowski, deputy cup-bearer of Liw, lieutenant colonel of the troops of His Royal Majesty, the son – begotten in lawful wedlock with the above-named late magnificent (Magn.) Władysław Dąbrowski before he changed the lay estate for the clerical, and nephew of the late illustrious (Illustr.) and very reverend (Adm. Rev.) (Illustr. et Religiosiss.) Michał Dąbrowski, knight of Malta, and after that same father and paternal uncle the sole lawful successor – being of sound mind and body, deposed, ceding,

that they give a quittance to the magnificent (Magn.) Maria née Kątska – daughter lawfully born of the first bed of the late magnificent (Magn.) Jan Stanisław of the two names and Wiktoria née Szczuka Kątski, husband and wife, granddaughter of the magnificent (Magn.) Konstancja ze Złotego Potoku Szczuka, wife of the vice-chancellor of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and lawful wife of the magnificent (Magn.) Eustachy Potocki, starosta of Tłumacz and of Dubno, sole successor and heiress – and to her successors, for two sums, namely:

for the first – of seven thousand eight hundred and eight struck thalers (imperials) and eight Polish groszy: in the first place by a bond of debt before the Warsaw castle court records on the Wednesday after the feast of St Peter in Chains of the year 1718 [3 August 1718] for the sum of three thousand one hundred and fifty-eight struck thalers – deposed by the late magnificent (Magn.) Konstancja ze Złotego Potoku Szczuka, wife of the vice-chancellor of Lithuania, widow of the late magnificent (Magn.) Stanisław Szczuka, vice-chancellor of Lithuania, the grandmother of the present party quitted – to the successors of the late magnificent (Magn.) Władysław Dąbrowski, chamberlain of Vilna; and next by a further inscription for the sum of four thousand six hundred and fifty of those same struck thalers, secured by that same wife of the vice-chancellor of Lithuania to the late illustrious (Illustr.) Michał Dąbrowski, knight of Malta, at the official confirmation of the contract described below;

and likewise for the obligatory contract concluded between that same magnificent (Magn.) Konstancja Szczuka on the one side and the above-named late Michał Dąbrowski, knight of Malta – in his own name and in the name of the deponent – on the other side, drawn up and dated at Warsaw on the 24th day of October of that same year 1718, signed in the hands of the contracting parties, officially confirmed in the Warsaw records on the Saturday after the feast of St Matthew the Apostle of that same year [24 September 1718], and lodged with the present castle and starostal records of Łuków by way of oblation in the year 1736, inclusively –

and this by way of security upon the estates of Branica, Wola Bezwola and Zbytków [uncertain reading], lying in the voivodeship of Lublin and in the land of Łuków; which sums, reckoning the imperial at eight złoty of the coin current in the Kingdom, make sixty-two thousand four hundred and sixty-four złoty and eight Polish groszy;

and for the second – of seven hundred and twenty-four Hungarian red złoty, three hundred and forty-six thalers and two złoty, and likewise one thousand seven hundred and thirty-five tynfs and two szóstaki, contracted from that same illustrious (Illustr.) Michał Dąbrowski, knight of Malta, the above-named paternal uncle, by the said magnificent (Magn.) Wiktoria née Szczuka, by her second marriage Cetner, mistress of the Crown kitchen, under a hand-written bond given at Warsaw on the 16th day of October in the Year of Our Lord 1739, and lodged with the present records of Łuków by way of oblation on the Thursday on the eve of the feast of St Michael the Archangel of the year 1741 [28 September 1741], and secured for payment together with the interest by that same bond;

and likewise for the testament of the last will, drawn up by that same illustrious (Illustr.) paternal uncle in the commandery of Łomazy on the 26th day of November in the Year of Our Lord 1740, officially confirmed in the records of the consistory of Janów [uncertain reading], and lodged with the records of the present office by way of oblation on the Monday after the feast of the Three Kings of the year 1741 [9 January 1741] –

together with the interest upon the principal sum of eighteen thousand złoty, fifteen groszy and one Polish szeląg, reckoned from the term set for payment in that same bond, that is from the feast of the Nativity of St John the Baptist of the year 1734, according to the sentences of the Tribunal, to the like feast of the year 1744, in half, and now up to this day for two years in full, falling due and computed, brought down to the sum of nine thousand five hundred Polish złoty, raised by that same magnificent (Magn.) party giving the quittance out of the sum constituting the price of the estate of Branica with its appurtenances –

which principal sums and sums of interest, computed together at ninety thousand three hundred and sixty-four złoty, twenty-three groszy and one Polish szeląg, have now been in fact and effectually paid out to them;

and likewise for all the claims arising out of the possession of the above-named estates and arising up to this day, reserving to themselves no right and no claim out of them, and for the manifestations made both by that same illustrious (Illustr.) predecessor and by themselves the deponents, as regards the whole process begun in whatsoever manner – they give a quittance, and the above inscriptions, the security of the contracts, the manifestations and the proceedings indicated in them they abolish, cancel, extinguish and annul perpetually and for ever.

Thereupon the magnificent (Magn.) Stanisław Szymanowski, deputy cup-bearer of Bracław, the lawfully appointed commissary of the magnificent (Magn.) Eustachy and Maria née Kątska Potocki, starostas of Tłumacz and of Dubno, husband and wife, and the attorney specially inscribed for the carrying out of the above before the Halicz castle court records [uncertain reading] on the Saturday after the solemn feast of the Descent of the Holy Spirit of the current year 1743 [8 June 1743], having appeared in person before the present office and records, being of sound mind and body, deposed, ceding,

that he – by virtue of the power of attorney serving him – gives a quittance to the above-named magnificent (Magn.) Konstancja née Podowska, the mother, and Stanisław, deputy cup-bearer of Liw, the son, Dąbrowski, and to their successors, for all the claims arising by whatsoever title out of the ground and the possession of the above-named estate of Branica with its appurtenances, and relating to them, the parties quitted, by reason of his principals, and arising up to this day, reserving nothing of them in favour of his principals, and likewise for the manifestations, the relations, the inscriptions and the other proceedings – and the manifestations, the relation and the whole process he cancels, by means of the present depositions in everything.

The well-born (Gen.) Józef Jezierski, son begotten of the late well-born (Gen.) Krzysztof Jezierski called Byk with the late well-born (Gen.) Zofia Dąbrowska, being of sound mind and body, deposed that to the magnificent (Magn.) Jerzy Szaniawski, deputy cup-bearer of Lublin, and to his successors, he gives and donates, with everything, his paternal hereditary estate, that is his whole and entire inheritance share – in the plots, buildings and structures of whatever kind, gardens, orchards, arable, fields, meadows, woods, forests, groves, rivers and streams, and likewise with the subjects and the inhabitants together with their labour service, children, cattle and swine, with the whole household property and the farming implements, with the days of labour service, with the renders, the dues and all the obligations, as also with the fields and the meadows held and possessed by them and with the other appurtenances of those estates – leaving and excepting nothing for himself or for his successors – situated and lying in the hereditary village of Domaszewnica. He consents to intromission forthwith and promises a general warranty, and this under the land-law damages and under the present court; and this as regards both the subjects now settled and those who have fled, with a free recovery of them.

The noble (Nob.) Ignacy Dąbrowski, son of the late noble (Nob.) Wojciech, being of sound mind and body, deposed that to the noble (Nob.) Paweł Borkowski, son of the late Kazimierz Borkowski, and to his successors he mortgages his acquired estate, that is twelve strips in one place, beginning at the village of Borki Werki and running towards the Lipiny boundaries, between the baulks of the noble (Nob.) Piotr Ługowski on the one side and of the noble (Nob.) Jan Ługowski called Suchmiak on the other, situated and lying in the hereditary estate of the village of Ługi Rętki, vacant, with everything – for the sum of sixteen Polish złoty, from now for one year, with the term falling at the feast of St Luke the Evangelist in the following year 1744; and thereafter from year to year. He consented to intromission forthwith and promised warranty, and this under a penalty of sixteen Polish złoty and the present forum.

The noble (Nob.) Adam Celiński, son of the late noble (Nob.) Sebastian, being of sound mind and body, deposed that he gives a quittance to the nobles (Nob.) Maciej and Antoni Celiński, brothers german to one another, and to Wojciech Dąbrowski and to their successors – for whatsoever inscriptions deposed by them, for the quittances made, further for the relations, and likewise for all and each of the claims arising up to this day – declaring that satisfaction was rendered to him in everything.

The noble (Nob.) Ignacy Dąbrowski, son of the late noble (Nob.) Wojciech Dąbrowski, being of sound mind and body, deposed that to the noble (Nob.) Józef Ługowski, son of the noble (Nob.) Jan Ługowski, and to his successors his acquired hereditary estate, that is twenty-six strips of arable, beginning at the Zapłotnia road and running for one staje, between the baulks of [the party giving the mortgage] on the one side and of the party taking the mortgage on the other — lying in the hereditary village of Ługi Wielkie, with everything, for the sum of fifty Polish złoty, from now until a year and the day of St Valentine the Martyr falling in the year 1745, he gives in mortgage and mortgages. He consented to intromission, governing himself by the common law, and this under a like penalty of fifty Polish złoty, for which he appoints the present court.

Monday after Laetare Sunday in Lent, in the Year of Our Lord 1744.

The noble (Nob.) Jan Zakrzewski on the one side, and Maciej Rola and Józef Dąbrowski on the other side, being of sound mind and body, deposed and acknowledged that the mortgage contract concerning the inheritance share lying and situated in the estate of the village of Zakrzew, concluded and issued between them, and drawn up and written out here, at Łuków, on the fourteenth day of the month of March of the year now current, and signed with their own hands, strengthened by a penalty of one hundred Polish złoty, they strengthen and confirm in all its points, and this under a penalty of one hundred Polish złoty.
