Dear reader, remember that this is an AI study, that it may contain errors; treat it as indicative and verify it for yourself.
„Persons (different given names)” means: different combinations of a given name with a byname, not persons proved to have existed. Two namesakes from one family merge here into a single item, and the acts give nothing to tell them apart. An entry naming several families stands beside each of them — because the record names them together, and they must not be separated.
forms of the name in the acts Żabińska Żabiński
The persons of this surname in the acts, with the number of entries and with the kinships the record states outright.

Fragments of families assembled from the kinships the acts state outright. One fragment is as much as a single entry, or a group of entries, allows to be joined without guessing — not a whole family tree, only a certain piece of one.
confidence B — 4 acts
A line assembled from 4 acts, linked by persons whose filiation is recorded. Predominant acts: Mortgage; Quittance for the marks awarded by a decree of condescension issued on the ground of the village of Świercze; Quittance in a suit over the seizure of a mare, a cow and an ox, and for the sum of 60 złp and the penalty; cancellation of a decree of condescension of 1743.

Heading: „The third protocol of inscriptions”, under the act of the Friday after Ash Wednesday in the Year of Our Lord 1743.
The noble (Nob.) Stanisław Świerczowski, son of the late noble (Nob.) Józef, being of sound mind and body, deposed that to the noble (Nob.) Melchior Świerczowski, son of the late noble (Nob.) Paweł, and to his successors, he mortgages his paternal hereditary estate, that is: 1) five strips of homestead land, beginning at the Nurzyna boundaries and running towards the village road, between the baulks of the noble (Nob.) Łukasz Świerczowski on the one side and of the noble (Nob.) Władysław Żabiński on the other; 2) four strips of arable, beginning at the Świercze boundaries and running towards the village road, between the baulks of the noble (Nob.) Piotr Karwowski on the one side and of the noble (Nob.) Łukasz Świerczowski on the other – lying in the hereditary estate of the village of Świercze, waste, with every right, for the sum of thirty Polish złoty, from now for three years, until the feast of St Casimir falling in the coming year 1746, and thereafter from year to year to the same feast until redemption. He consented to intromission forthwith and promised warranty – and this under a like penalty of thirty Polish złoty, the forum of the present office, and in particular warranty against the noble (Nob.) Elżbieta Paskudzka.
notes and marginalia From this entry the third protocol of inscriptions begins. **Revision of the reading („olim” instead of „et”).** The original translation read the word before the father's given name as „et” and made Melchior the **son** of Paweł. In this chancery hand the abbreviation **„ol.” (olim)** is written as an „o” with a stroke through the shaft and is deceptively like „et”; the grammatical case decides the matter — the genitive with „filio” means **„to the son [of someone]”**, not „and to the son”. The direction of the filiation is confirmed by entry 282 of 8 April 1743 („Melchior Świerczowski, s. zm. Pawła”), from the same village of Świercze. The pattern was checked against the manuscript: entry 246 (scan 56-043, „Antonio Domaszowski … **Casimiri filio**”) and entry 302 (scan 56-051, „Stephano Jasienski **ol. N. Pauli filio**”).

persons in the entry Stanisław and Łukasz Świerczewski, brothers german, sons of the late Józef Świerczewski – the parties giving the mortgage; Franciszek Karwowski [uncertain reading], son of the late Paweł – the party taking the mortgage; neighbours (baulks): Władysław Żabiński, Aleksander Muszyński
localities in the entry the village of Muszyna [uncertain reading]; the Ostojskie boundaries
The nobles (Nob.) Stanisław and Łukasz Świerczewski, sons of the late noble (Nob.) Józef, brothers german to one another, being of sound mind and body, deposed and acknowledged that to the noble (Nob.) Franciszek Karwowski [uncertain reading], son of the late noble (Nob.) Paweł, and to his successors they give in mortgage their hereditary estate, that is two strips of arable, beginning at the boundary and running towards the Ostojskie boundaries, between the baulks of the noble (Nob.) Władysław Żabiński on the one side and of the acting parties themselves and of the noble (Nob.) Aleksander Muszyński on the other, situated and lying in the hereditary village of Muszyna [uncertain reading], vacant, with everything, for the sum of eight Polish złoty, from now until redemption. They consented to intromission forthwith, governing themselves by the law of the present court, and this under a penalty of eight Polish złoty. The present court.
notes and marginalia The surname of the party taking the mortgage is legible only in its ending („…rowski”); the PTG tag for scan 57-029 gives „Franciszek Karwowski??” and „Paweł Karwowski??” – with the indexer's own double question marks, so that for the PTG too the reading was doubtful. The reading of the tag has been adopted and its uncertainty noted, nothing being supplied by conjecture. The name of the village („Muszyna”) has been read with uncertainty and is not in the tags; Aleksander Muszyński likewise is not in the tags – the discrepancy has been noted. A mortgage without a term, until redemption.
