and that same well-born (Gen.) Zdziarski to the magnificent (Magn.) Jezierski, clerk of the Łuków castle court – for a certain manifestation, made against the condemnation and injurious to the unimpaired honour of that same magnificent (Magn.) party quitted, which manifestation he withdraws;

and this by reason of the settlement concluded between them and of the actual payment by the well-born (Gen.) Zdziarski of the marks to the convent of the Bernardine Fathers of Łuków, with the leave of that same magnificent (Magn.) clerk of Łuków; and the decree together with its enforcement clause, and that same manifestation, they cancel.

notes and marginalia An entry of particular weight for the constitution of the office: a party to it is **the clerk of the Łuków castle court himself, Jan (Franciszek) Jezierski, sword-bearer of the Liw land**, the same man who appears in entries 1145–1149; the suit against him embraced a manifestation aimed at his honour, and against Zdziarski – the penalty of the tower. The marks went, instead of into the hands of the injured party, **to the convent of the Bernardine Fathers at Łuków** – the first mention of that monastery in the year 1744 and a rare example of a penalty turned to a pious purpose.
