The Łuków castle court records 1743–1744
Łukowski
persons 1 · entries 2 · years 1743
Dear reader, remember that this is an AI study, that it may contain errors; treat it as indicative and verify it for yourself.
„Persons (different given names)” means: different combinations of a given name with a byname, not persons proved to have existed. Two namesakes from one family merge here into a single item, and the acts give nothing to tell them apart. An entry naming several families stands beside each of them — because the record names them together, and they must not be separated.
Persons
The persons of this surname in the acts, with the number of entries and with the kinships the record states outright.

and the nobles (Nob.) Ługowski and Radzikowski – likewise for the suit and official action brought on account of certain wrongs and claims expressed in the original terms and relating to the present case, and decided by a final decree of condescension issued on the ground of the estate of Ługi Wielkie on the Friday after Reminiscere Sunday in Lent of the current year 1743 [15 March 1743] by the present office, and lodged with the records of the present office on the Thursday after Oculi Sunday in Lent of that same year [21 March 1743] by way of oblation – together with all the penalties adjudged by those decrees and with the claims allowed, and with the tower confinement, wholly and entirely served out, and this as regards all the deponent persons;

notes and marginalia All three dates have been verified by calendar reckoning: St Hedwig's, 15 October 1742 – a Monday; Reminiscere Sunday 1743 – 10 March, the Friday after it – 15 March 1743; Oculi Sunday 1743 – 17 March, the Thursday after it – 21 March 1743. The name of the estate „Ługi Magna” (Ługi Wielkie) is read with confidence, the identification of the locality – uncertain. „Sessio turrica” = the tower penalty served out.

The dating formula of the decree („Feria Tertia post Festum Purificationis B.V.M. … Anno praecedenti”) points to 6 February 1742 (2 February 1742 fell on a Friday, and the Tuesday after it is 6 February). The case concerns the „taxa vulnerum” – the compensation for the wounds inflicted by the father of the party quitted; the son pays for the father's deed.
