„Persons (different given names)” means: different combinations of a given name with a byname, not persons proved to have existed. Two namesakes from one family merge here into a single item, and the acts give nothing to tell them apart. An entry naming several families stands beside each of them — because the record names them together, and they must not be separated.

localities in the entry Łuków (the castle court records); the jurisdiction of the Liw land

The magnificent (Magn.) Marcjan de Windyki Grzybowski, treasurer of Liw, being of sound mind and body, deposed – ceding – that to the magnificent (Magn.) Antoni Domaszowski, cup-bearer of Owrucz, son of the magnificent (Magn.) Kazimierz, and to his successors he is bound and obliged for the sum of five thousand two hundred and eighty Polish złoty by way of a certain, true, just, liquid and simple debt;

which sum he inscribes and secures upon all and each of his paternal and maternal estates, now possessed and to be acquired in the future; and he undertakes and binds himself to pay that sum at the eve of the feast of the Nativity of St John the Baptist falling in the coming year 1744 [23 June 1744], God willing, together with the interest at ten per hundred (from which he is released for the current year), notwithstanding the calamity of the times, and to lodge it with the present records of Łuków;

and this under a like penalty of five thousand two hundred and eighty Polish złoty, indicating the present court of Łuków as the forum for answering, according to the law of Liw, and the Hungarian red złoty being reckoned at eighteen Polish złoty each.

[Signature:] Martinianus de Windyki Grzybowski

notes and marginalia The entry is exceptional for the size of the sum (5280 złp) and the detail of its conditions: interest at 10 per hundred yearly with a remission for the current year, the clause „non obstante temporum calamitate” (notwithstanding the calamity of the times), the reckoning into Hungarian red złoty at 18 złp each, and the indication of the law of Liw. The office of the deponent („Thesaurarius Livensis”) is an uncertain reading. In the margin notes „Nil” and one concerning a quittance. Kazimierz Domaszowski does not appear in the tags for scan 105.
