„Persons (different given names)” means: different combinations of a given name with a byname, not persons proved to have existed. Two namesakes from one family merge here into a single item, and the acts give nothing to tell them apart. An entry naming several families stands beside each of them — because the record names them together, and they must not be separated.

localities in the entry Jagodne; Lublin (the Crown Tribunal)

The well-born (Gen.) Marianna Zielińska, daughter of the late well-born (Gen.) Stanisław Zieliński, and widow left by the late well-born (Gen.) Jan Białkowski, being of sound mind and body and having set her affairs in order, deposed that to the well-born (Gen.) Jan Zieliński, her brother german, and to his successors – out of whatsoever sums touching her, the deponent, and arising from the debt inscription made before the present records by the said late well-born (Gen.) Jan Białkowski, her husband; and likewise out of the sums inscribed to her by that same husband by his testament of last will, and placed upon the estates of Jagodne and others, seated after the late magnificent (Magn.) Kazimierz Cieciszowski, starosta of Mielnik, and secured for payment by that same husband; moreover out of any process whatsoever in the matter of those sums, carried on before the present castle court office of Łuków with the successors of the said late magnificent (Magn.) Kazimierz Cieciszowski, starosta of Mielnik, and with the others specified in the course of the suit; out of whatsoever decrees and out of the decree of execution obtained in the Tribunal Courts of the Kingdom at Lublin – together with all the conditions, points, clauses, articles, bonds and ligaments both of the debt inscription and of the will, of the process and of the other documents – by reason of the sufficient satisfaction shown to her, she yields up and transfers her whole right, giving power to raise those sums, to give a quittance for what is raised and, if need be, to proceed at law for them.

The woman deposing unlettered (in the source: „Ignara scribendi litterarum”) – the entry without a signature.

notes and marginalia The date of the session verified: St Hedwig, 15 October 1743, fell on a Tuesday, and the next day is Wednesday 16 October 1743 – which confirms that in this register „Festum S. Hedvigis” means 15 October. The persons, the estate of Jagodne and Kazimierz Cieciszowski agree with the PTG tags for scan 149. A rare entry in which the ground of the claim is a testament of last will.

localities in the entry Łuków

[Heading of the session:] Thursday after the feast of St Agnes Virgin and Martyr in the Year of Our Lord 1744 [23 January 1744].

The well-born (Gen.) Marianna Żelińska, wife of the late well-born (Gen.) Jan Białkowski, his widow left, on the one side, and Wawrzyniec Krasuski [the reading of the surname uncertain] on the other side, being of sound mind and body, deposed that a certain contract, concerning certain things and estates specified in it, drawn up and written between themselves under the act and date here at Łuków on 23 January of the current year 1744, signed in their own hands and secured by the land-law damages – they confirm in everything.

[The deponents] unlettered.

notes and marginalia The contract was drawn up and at once, on the same day, confirmed in the castle court – the usual practice of giving a private agreement the force of an official act. The surname of the second party is uncertain: the PTG tag for scan 57-008 gives it with equal hesitation as „Wawrzyniec Krasuski?”.
