Marriage register of the parish of Zbuczyn, 1777–1810

The Sources section holds a study of the marriage register of the parish of Zbuczyn, 1777–1810. The whole register is covered: 2,301 entries.

For every marriage the table gives the year, the entry number and the date, the groom and the bride, social estate, place, marital status and notes. A separate tab holds a literal translation of every entry. The description of the archival unit also covers the loose documents kept at the front of the register, among them dispensations from 1774–1782. The study also has a summary and a search whose results can be narrowed down.

Every entry was read twice, each time independently. Where the two readings differ, a fresh reading of the manuscript settles the matter; places left unsettled are marked [?], as are passages that could not be read with certainty.

Couples in the “Selected families” tab of the notarial deeds study who may correspond to marriages in this register carry a link to the marriage entry. These are possible links to be checked, not a merging of persons.

The study of the Siedlce mortgage registers, held by the State Archive in Siedlce, loads in parts, so it opens quickly on a phone as well. Searching works there just as in the study of the notarial deeds.

The manuscript pages shown with the notarial deeds of Łuków and Siedlce have been checked and put in order, so that every deed comes with the pages that belong to it. The 1822 deeds of the Siedlce notary Chojnacki are numbered in two series; the two series are kept apart throughout, so deeds with the same number are never confused.

In the study of the Łuków castle court records 1743–1744, the notes on the entries take the form of footnotes, as in source editions, and concern only the content of the entries.
