Łuków extracts in the records of the Crown Tribunal of Lublin

The Sources section holds a study of the Łuków extracts in the holdings of the Crown Tribunal of Lublin. An extract is an official copy of an entry in the books of the castle court or the land court, issued to a party at its request and certified by an official; the nobility brought such copies to the Tribunal as evidence in their cases. The Łuków extracts are kept by the State Archive in Lublin.

The study covers 250 entries from 1673–1793 in three archival units: 461, 462 and 465. Units 462 and 465 are covered in full, unit 461 so far in part. Every entry has a transcription and a full translation. The entry window shows the manuscript pages in a version with improved legibility, and every entry links to its unit in Szukaj w Archiwach, with the number of the scan where the entry begins.

The extracts carry the content of the Łuków books: depositions and protests of the nobility, court ushers’ reports on serving summonses, entries of documents, decrees, powers of attorney, receipts and records of sums. The entries contain 2 383 mentions of persons, 762 of them with family relationships; the Jasiński family appears in 17 entries. The study has a search engine and the same tabs as the other source sections: entries, persons, key figures, selected families, summary and guide.
