A family sightseeing trip to the Tricity (Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia)

MY DEAR RELATIVES – JASIŃSKIS AND ORZE(Y)ŁOWSKIS!
On 4-6 September 2008 we made a family sightseeing trip to the Tricity (Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia), which I organised for the active members of two families - the Jasińskis and the Orze(y)łowskis. There were 50 of us. More than a third of the group had genealogical ties to both families. I am one of them myself, being a Jasiński on my mother's side and an Orzełowski on my father's. I am very glad that I managed to organise this trip. In the course of it we saw for ourselves that both families share the same aims. The most important of them, for us, was to show ourselves and others that family is a treasure, and that when a family is of one mind there is nothing it cannot carry through and achieve.
We received great help with the trip from three members of our two families living in Gdańsk: Polikarp C-312 Maciejczyk, who paid for our accommodation and breakfasts and gave a celebratory dinner; Danusia D-2242 Nowosielska-Jaworska and her family, who laid on a wonderful gathering at their home with a barbecue by the fire; and Teresa C-1443 Orzyłowska, our family guide, who showed us the finest monuments and curiosities of the Tri-City. It should be added that this group of fifty included members of the joined family choirs - the Jasiński and the Orze(y)łowski. They showed their passion and their voices in the most important churches along the route (Pelplin, Gdańsk, Chełmno).
Singing and the joy of the people taking part set the tone for the whole trip. On the way back to Siedlce many of them came up to the microphone to say how glad and how satisfied they were with everything they had experienced. The photographs from the trip that I am sending to the family gallery will show the family feeling that reigned throughout.
Meeting the members of both families halfway for a second time, I should like to invite everyone who cares about bringing the family together to our Christmas wafer gathering. For the Orze(y)łowskis it will be the seventh in a row, as we have met every year since 2003. At the last gathering, held in the village hall in Radomyśl in January 2008, 168 of us came together. This time the organisers are encouraging members of both families - the Jasińskis and the Orze(y)łowskis - to meet together. We firmly believe it will be a most enjoyable evening. With this letter I enclose the invitation.
Stanisław C-4115 Orzełowski, Jasiński on his mother's side.
