Armorials and the Złota księga szlachty polskiej
The Sources section now has an Armorials category. It gathers what the printed armorials of the Polish nobility say about the Jasińskis of the Rawicz arms and about the families from around Jasionka — from Niesiecki’s “Korona polska” of 1728 to the armorials of Boniecki and Uruski from the first half of the 20th century. Alongside them stands Teodor Żychliński’s “Złota księga szlachty polskiej”, published in Poznań in 1879–1908.
Every family the armorials say something about has a page of its own — 51 in all. The entries are given in a transcription faithful to the print, keeping the spelling and abbreviations of the edition, and each one links to that page of the volume in a digital library. Together that makes 237 entries from 48 volumes. A family page also gathers mentions of the surname in the entries of other families, and what the “Złota księga” says about the family.
The largest is the page of the Jasiński family — 75 entries. They include the Jasińskis of the Rawicz arms, but also families of the same name bearing other arms, among them Dołęga, Jastrzębiec, Jelita and Poraj. An armorial describes a family, not particular people from our trees: a matching name does not prove kinship, so people from the armorials are not linked to the site’s trees or records.
On the category page you can search all the entries at once — by surname, coat of arms or place. Matches are highlighted in orange, and a link leads straight to the entry on the family page. The armorials are also a separate scope in the site search, next to the notarial records, the tax registers and the castle court records.
